Integrating Change Management in Agriculture
Scaling new technologies, practices, and varieties on-farm is not always straightforward. Sometimes a business case or demo doesn't lead to the expected adoption. Why is that? How can start-ups, breeders, buyers, and crop advisors increase the likelihood and speed of adoption for a new technology, product, or practice? Successful change is about understanding the human beings making the decision. Organizations are increasingly using social science, change management, and other tools to do this more effectively. At McCain Foods, we have increasingly used tools like peer learning cohorts, mapping growers on adoption S-curves, and change management frameworks to accelerate regenerative agriculture practice adoption and new variety reputation management with our potato growers. This roundtable will share best practices and lessons learned from those looking to accelerate change on-farm.
