Benjamin Z. Houlton is the Ronald P. Lynch Dean of the Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Global Development. His research interests include agricultural sustainability, climate change solutions and global ecosystem processes. Since 2017, Houlton has collaborated with the agriculture and mining industries to examine the effects of adding finely crushed rock to crop- and range-land soil, and its benefits for improved yields, soil health, climate-smart commodities and carbon sequestration.
