Dr. M. Brett McMickell is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Kubota North America, where he drives the company’s technology strategy and manages its comprehensive technology portfolio. In his role, Dr. McMickell oversees technology development and investment, ensuring alignment with Kubota's innovation goals and market needs.

Before joining Kubota, Dr. McMickell served as the CEO of AgJunction, leading the company until its acquisition by Kubota in 2021. Prior to that, he held a variety of leadership roles at Honeywell Aerospace, including Senior Director of Engineering for Actuation Systems, where he contributed to advanced avionics and industrial technologies.

Dr. McMickell’s career reflects his passion for leveraging technology to address global challenges. He has extensive expertise in managing the entire lifecycle of technology development, from conception to product deployment. His diverse experience spans advanced avionics, autonomy, precision agriculture, industrial controls, and satellite systems, showcasing his versatility across industries.

Dr. McMickell holds an M.B.A. in Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, an M.S. and Ph.D. in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a certificate in Mechatronics from the University of Utah.

A recognized innovator, Dr. McMickell received the prestigious Lawrence Sperry Award from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) for his contributions to the advancement of small satellite technology. His visionary leadership and technical expertise continue to drive transformative innovations at Kubota North America.
