Hajime Sakai has extensive experience in agricultural R&D. Before co-founding NAPIGEN, he developed unique genomic strategies to identify new trait genes for major crops at DuPont Pioneer, resulting in 50 granted US patents. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Munich, Germany, studying mitochondrial genetics, and engaged in plant stem cell research at Caltech.
