Joe L Del Bosque is a first-generation family farmer from Firebaugh, California. He has been involved in farming all his life on the Westside of the San Joaquin Valley where his family settled after years of migrant farm work. He graduated from California State University, Fresno in 1975, and began his own farm in 1985. Today his farm produces organic melons, organic processing tomatoes, almonds, and cherries. Del Bosque Farms uses many of the latest ag technologies together with advanced organic farming practices. Del Bosque Farms organic melons can be found in some of the finest grocery stores throughout the United States. 

Del Bosque serves on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research and the California Melon Research Board. He served on the California Water Commission for nine years. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Central Valley Community Foundation, the Ag Foundation Board at Fresno State, and he is Past Chair of AgSafe, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing safer working conditions for workers in agriculture. In 2015, Del Bosque was recognized with the distinguished Agriculturalist of the Year Award by the Fresno Chamber of Commerce.

Del Bosque is a well-known advocate for California agriculture, and has been featured in national and international media, including NPR, CBS, NBC, BBC, ABC, Univision, LA Times, NY Times, and many others. Del Bosque has hosted visits by many national and state leaders at Del Bosque Farms.
