Marlin Edwards
Marlin Edwards is a consultant in the field of Plant Breeding and Breeding Technologies.
Dr. Edwards is former Chief Technology Officer of Monsanto Vegetable Seeds and, prior to that, V.P. of Breeding Technology for Monsanto’s Row Crop Business. He led the establishment of Monsanto’s application of marker technology for the row crops business in corn, soybeans, cotton and canola as well as the trait integration programs that incorporated biotech traits into Monsanto’s elite germplasm. In 2006, Edwards joined Monsanto’s newly-acquired vegetable business and led that organization’s global breeding programs and the development of technology platforms for vegetable improvement. Upon Monsanto’s sale to Bayer in 2017, Dr. Edwards retired and has since served as a consultant as well as enjoying his personal passion for plant breeding by continuing his breeding program of 45 years in specialty peppers as well as working in specialty popcorn.
