Itinerary

Monday, March 16, 2020

10.00am Pick up from the San Francisco Marriott Marquis

10.30-12.00pm Tour of Plenty’s Vertical Farming Facility

Delegates will be treated to an exclusive back-stage tour of the Plenty Vertical Farming Facility where indoor farmers bring high quality produce to market without the need for pesticides or GMOs. A cutting-edge system, combining plant-science and clever tech allows Plenty to reuse water and carefully control light, temperature and humidity in order to grow up to 350 times as much produce per square foot, while using a fraction of the water an outdoor farm would.

Please note: For IP reasons, attending companies will be required to sign an NDA prior to the visit.

Plenty Vertical Farm

12.30-1.30pm Lunch at “Alice’s Restaurant”

A casual lunch featuring locally-sourced ingredients at this local landmark restaurant.

2.00-4.15pm Tour of Clos De La Tech Vineyard and Winery

Clos De La Tech operates one of the most advanced wineries in the region.  The tour will be taken by Head Winegrower, David Goldfarb, and will include a walk through the vineyard, followed by a tour of the winery where delegates will be invited to taste a selection of wines. Here you will learn about the vineyard’s Automatic Irrigation System by technology provider WaterBit, and recent exploration into developing a drone to assist with precision spraying and crop analysis. Make sure to ask about the experimental tractor designed with Clemens GmbH and the Integrated Fermentation Control System invented by owner TJ Rodgers for UC Davis.

Please note: the vineyard tour may include rough terrain so sturdy footwear is recommended.

5.00pm Arrive Back at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis
